Issac's Journal Entry #1

(From the personal log of Eva pilot Isaac chase)

I finally arrived at my posting in Seattle 2 where I met the other two pilots that have been assigned to. First off I must say that they are not what I expected, physically I find both to be very slight, frail, and altogether inadequate or at least that's how they appear. Although they may appear to be the physical equivalent of varying normal every day civilian teenagers, their physical abilities are actually far beyond that of what they appear to be able to achieve. Something tells me that neither of these pilots are wholly natural in their origin but to what extent and how that lies in the realm of expertise beyond mine. Now mentally pilot Mary Ann, although at first appeared to be timid and personality, she quickly seems to assert herself as an oddly normal civilian teenage girl.

Pilot Tear seems to have the worst case of cockpit syndrome I have ever seen outside of the cockpit of her Eva she seems to be almost in a state of perpetual fear, but while in her Eva she seems to be the total opposite, she is energetic, alert, and seemingly fearless. Both pilots according from what I've seen from our in my opinion wholly substandard training regiments even if they are meant to be baselines both the other pilots seem to be quite competent.

The main facility seems to still be under heavy construction but looks like a fine facility. This particular NERV branch appears to uphold NERV’s standards for high-quality personnel especially in their choice of security in my opinion choosing to enlist the assistance of the company Blackwatch was the best idea. Now the rest of the general personnel although they do appear to be quite knowledgeable in their areas of expertise I find them to be too soft handed and severely lacking in the fortitude needed to ensure that what needs to be done is done and that discipline is always maintained. I discovered this when nearing one of my classes I decided to test the instructor by blatantly cheating on quiz.  And the instructor completely failed in his duty to instill discipline and respect. The confrontation was quiet, passive, and altogether non assertive. There was absolutely no corporal punishment.

As a sub note I find that there physical training facilities are quite adequate and that the chow here is both tasty and plentiful.
