Chasing Tears

 I just met two of our pilots today, Pilot  (Issac) Chase, and Pilot Tear.

Boy what are we getting ourselves into here.....

Let me start with chase, picture a tall muscular, dare I say handsome 25 year old man, now make him 15 and we have pilot Chase, the kid is built like a body builder. I honestly had a hard time with the idea that this kid was in fact, not lying about his age, or not on Growth Hormones.

Mentaly though... Well I'm not one to speak ill of our Neo-Spartan program, but I read his training notes and they paint an ugly picture, this kid is mentaly broken, someone his age should have more life behind those eyes, but his was faintly empty, almost... sad....

I haven't seen his Eva yet...  all the eva's will be here by no later than two weeks... but I'm told it's big like this kid, Kinda funny really. A real tank in humanoid form really.

Pilot Tear on the other hand really is a product of Chinese, and American, Ingenuity, okay so most of her file was either classified beyond my level, or simply a list of Genetic information, but... Well the results are interesting. I guess I should mentioned that we manufactured this pilot.

It's kinda cute, really but the pilot seems to of latched on to our operations director, I'll write more about him later, but as a scientist, I have to question if this is genuine, or if it's some kind of genetic modification that makes the pilot latch on to authority figures in general.

Like the Pilot, the Eva is a prototype, made quite small, and mostly as a test bed for new experimental parts, it's a bit out of control if the Activation tests are any indication, it thrashes, and it's very very angry. Or could this be a repressed aspect of the pilot itself that makes the Eva rage so....


I'll write more once we get confirmation about our third and fourth pilots, I have yet to meet this Vatican oversight agent, and honestly I don't really care to, religion has not place in this situation, despite certain staff members obsession with the dead sea scrolls.

Did I ever mention how much I miss our security forces? Most of them were reallocated to Japan about 3 months before the disaster. The ones that were left were little more than over-glorified mall cops right down to the seqways and pepper-spray canisters.

Well considering were about to receive our first two pilots, we had to improve that right? Yeah the Marduk report came through in record time, even if they had a bloody fit when I failed that Sôryû girl based on a second psyche evaluation.

"But were almost done with her Eva, it'll be ready before any other pilots. Also unlike the other pilots your considering her's won't be a rush job or a prototype"

Yeah, Well so god damn what? She BOMBED her second psych evaluation. I can't have an anti-social pilot with a god complex that could all too easily crumble in on itself, we already saw what happened when a pilot mentally lost there shit in the plug, and the cost was far too much for NERV to bear a second time. Yes I am in favor of candidates from the Nero-Spartan program, but what the Germans produced is "My-little-whack-job" and not a proper pilot.

Anyways, Security... We needed it, and Hunter brought some outsiders in, scary outsiders. The type of outsiders I could imagine aiming a flamethrower into Sci-Lab and torching the hell out of it scary. Yes Hunter brought in an infamous "Private Military Company" that calls itself the "Blackwatch". Ruthless, highly trained and disciplined jack-booted assholes.

It's brilliant, since were officially sponsored by the UN, and not given a budget to, let alone allowed to, raise our own armed force we had to improvise. I mean why do we need one? We are here to Kill angels right? 

But what are we going to do if we get attacked by the human element? What our first Eva fight meets with backlash? What if we have an ejected pilot in the field? We need a ground force willing to do evil in the name of good. Blackwatch fits the bill, and Blackwatch is our ground force now.

Yeah this is going to bite us in the ass hard.

Conventinal arms

((This this report from Col. Bryant West from NorthAM Army, was sent to NERV HQ 13 days after the Japan Disaster. He thinks this is going to a UN ovesight unit.))

As you have requested, I have taken stock of our Armored Munitions. I find it strange that you are not asking about our infantry forces, but I understand there must be a reason for this so I'll keep it brief. I included hyperlinks to some civilian pages so your less knowledgeable personal will know what were talking about. I wish you would let us in the know as to *why* I'm requesting additional armor for this base. but I understand this is a classified operation, just like all the construction I see across the water on the Island.

Prewar our base housed 3 companies of Stryker Armored Fighting Vehicles, one of those is in deployment right now but will be back in the next couple weeks, there good for armored personal purposes and we did mount extra strike plating on our vehicles.

Of course we are requesting 4 companies of 10 of M1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks, these have service us since the Gulf war, and I see no reason they couldn't service us for years more to come. They contain both the fire power and the range to decimate most other armor vehicles out there. We literally cannot and will not replace them

We also have 2 companies of 10 M21 4.5 inch multiple rocket launcher vehicles on site. Yes there relics, and yes we only started re-manufacturing them due to there retaliative inexpensive and the need to fire allot of munitions downwind in some of those African hellholes our boys keep getting dragged into.

And is we really need to, I doubt it honestly. we could request that we ship in a few units of M777 Howitzer in the off chance that we get assaulted from a land based enemy, not a bad idea but let me get back to you.

Loss and Gains

((This is an excerpt from a long report from Rachael Martel of Nerv Seattle RND, To NERV Regional commander Orson Hunter, this is taking place roughly 7 days after the Japan Disaster))

Commander, it is of course my sad duty to report in this case, that members of research time that escorted our Operations Director to the Japan Disaster Site, have reported the loss of the Operations Director in Combat with Japanese looters about... 20 hours ago.

James of course left detailed plans for the deployment of various resources for the operation and maitnece of no more than 4 to 5 Evangelion units, I know the Vatican Treaty mandates that no single country is allowed to host more than 3 functional evangelions at at time, but we have plans in place to consider allowing a Vatican Observor to serve as an oversight, to ensure that we are in fact using our Evangelions for there intended purpose...

Below was what James had laid out on the map for deployment and resupply sites for an Evangelion defensive action.

So as you can see here, our resources only allowed for 3 launch points, with the 4th eva in this case, either having to wait for deployment or be deployed through the Embarkation point, at the center of the island. We are fortunate that much of this was already well under construction, which... I find questionable of course, why did we have partially constructed launch ports already?  why is two out of four hangers already prepped to store Evangelions? Were we expecting to host activate and combat ready Evangelions at our site from the beginning?

As requested I'll help the Vice Commander select out pliots from the Marduk Report for deployment here, Also I'll help Interview James's replacement... God willing this won't take long.

Life in Seattle-2

Seattle-2, as you know, is almost allways raining, so Seattle-2 had to take dramatic steps to keep it's people, happy, heathly, and of course, dry, no mater where in the city you go, you can walk comfortble under covered walkways, or sealed  under road tunnels, or even over the road covered walkways, that's right, there's no waiting on traffic lights in Seattle-2.

Are you worried that Seattle-2 is unsafe? Rest assured, that crime here is almost non existant, thanks to the presence of UN and North American security forces! There's allways someone protecting your interests here.

Seattle-2 is also a great place to find work in such area's as, Constrution, Manufacturing, and telecomunications. Seattle-2 is a city that never stops growing, you'll never have to worry about putting food on your table in Seattle-2

A Primer On Our Political situation

As we all know now, we are all going to suddenly become very important in the  big picture of our war with the Angels, at this time we do not know why we are going to be the front line of the war, and right now that's not important, what is important is that we, as representatives of NERV, and I want everyone to respect the various powers at play here, from the UN, to NorthAm, to our own holdings here on Federal Way Island.

So consider this an official refresher as to the "Borders" where our jurisdiction starts, and where there's ends.

I applogize to everyone for using a map that still has the old city names in place, but this was rather short notice, The area highlighted in Red, is in fact us, we run the southren part of Federal Way Island, as of 9 am local standard time the UN now controls the northren part of the Island, and of course the NorthAm goverment, still runs day to day operations in the Tacoma/Lakewood Blocks. Including Lewis/Mccord as the base of NorthAM operations.

Now, when it comes to Personal, I don't want to hear about any dispute with the locals in these two area's, we are now the face of Nerv, and until further notice, we are on serious damage control, NorthAm and the UN have already voiced concerns that we'll make the mistake that Japan did, and cause the Pacific Northwest to be similarly vaporized, I want strict professionalism from everyone in this regard. 

Now as we all know, we need to get our base of operations fortified, were doing some major transfers so constrution is going to be a major issue for everyone on our half of the island, the UN may be okay with converting apartments to barraks, and sandbagging the airport and calling it a base, but we are more than aware the threat the Angels bring, and we have an estimated 3 months to perform, what took Japan 10 years to pull off. and we don't have a Geofront to back us up.

So yes, there will be massive construction being performed through out our area over the next few months, we'll try to post information of area's that will be reconstructed, but do not be surprised if you end up in temp housing, or have to take permanent detours to your assignments, were all going to go through growing pains and your help is needed to make this whole operation run smoothly.

The Center of the Universe

From the desk of Rachael Martel, head of NERV RnD, Seattle-2 branch.

It's been just about 70 hours since Nerv Japan went dark, with there Magi Computer's going silent, and now we know why,  I'm told UN satellite and Aerial Recon confirmed what we all feared.

Japan is just gone. Except for the a couple smaller islands, it seems that  our last best hope to stop the Angels, has failed.

The Evangelions, have failed.

Okay so that was a little dramatic, we now know, that the head of Nerv Japan, sent out the only fully functional Evangelion into battle, quite literally  after throwing an untrained pilot into the cockpit, and sending him up.  Oh I don't mean a trainee, that would of been giving the child to much credit, I mean a literal child off the street, in lieu of a "real" pilot, into our greatest weapon...

The kid couldn't even keep the Evangelion upright, he went into a panic when the Angel grabbed him, cried out as the Angel pierced the Cranial Plate of the Evangelion, and was silent, as the Angel tore the Eva apart,

Lets be clear here, this is not because the Evangelion was not enough for the job, but because the pilot had no idea what he was doing. A weapon, and yes these are weapons, are only as usefull as the person wielding it. and this civilian was not a warrior by an means.

We all need to understand this, as why we have the Ned-Spartian Program, while we have the projects for clone pilots from "Red star international" and "Bain Bioengineering" to build us the pilots we needed.  Japan proved that an Eva can be destroyed, we allready knew this, what it failed to prove, is that victory is imposible.

This Notice is being sent out to all of Seattle-2 RnD for one reason, and one reason alone, WE are the Angels new target, The Marduk council predicts that the Angel was not destroyed with Japan, and that it will come here next, it's likely that all further Angel attacks will focus on us, so we *must* bring this base up to speed, we are working closely with the UN, and the North American government to deploy standard military vehicles, the northern commercial airport is already going to be re-purposed for NERV purposes for delivering much needed supplies.

More importantly, Nerv is pushing completion through on 4 Evangelions units, numbered  03 through 07 for deployment here, I want everyone in this department to know these Units better than the pliots, as we are going to be in charge of arming and refitting.

As soon as our Operations director returns from his mission in what used to be Japan, will we get a more in depth briefing. Untill then, stay busy, and perform your duties to the best of your abilities.

OOC: What this is about.

What you stumbled on or was directly linked to, is a blog, about a fictional situation which more or less amounts to Evangelion Fanfiction.

But at the same time, not really, this is not a fanfic of the actual Evangelion series, but is meant to, in effect Chronicle an Adeptus Evangelion Campaign, as well as establish a backstory for the setting of said campaign.

Early posts will set up the situation of the campaign, how the Player characters came to this point, how it dramatically branch off from Evangelion canon, and bring both PC's and the people at #AdeptisEvangelion on Rizon, the IRC chatroom for the game.

If your even remotly interested in the story, then I fully encourge you to check up on the above links to learn about the game, and join the chatroom if the game interests you, either as a fan of RPG's or Evangelion itself.

This blog, unless the title of the post has "OOC" in front of it, is in character from one of the many NPC's that will flesh out the campaign setting.

That being said, the story starts now, as the Command of Nerv Seattle has to deal with a realization, the 4th angel won, Nerv Japan, actually most of Japan itself, was destroyed, and now they are predicted to be the new focus of Angel Incursions on earth.
